UKITF Championships February 2019

Club instructors Paul Manning and Joshua Byrne travelled to Bath UK as part of the Taekwon-Do Alliance team. Paul won bronze in Adult Patterns, Silver in Adult Sparring, Gold in Senior Patterns and Gold in Senior Sparring. Joshua won Silver in  Adult Patterns and Bronze in Adult Sparring.

New Black Belt in the club

Congratulations to Peter Phillips who was recently prommoted to 1st Degree Black Belt by Master Ruairi O Brien. Peter has been a member of the club for the past 7 years and has worked tirelessly to reach his goals. 

Colour Belt Grading - February 2019

Well done to our members that graded in Midleton recently with examiners Mr John Burke 4th Degree and Miss Aoife O Brien 4th degree. It was a tough grading but all 8 were successful. 

New Training Schedule

New training schedule starts from Monday 17th September. Mondays @ Blackrock Hurling Club, Juniors -6.30 to 7.15pm,Teens & Adults- 7.15pm to 8pm, Wednesdays @ Ursuline Girls Secondary School, Teens & Adults- 7pm to 8pm, New members are welcome in all classes.

New members welcome

New members are always welcome at the club. We have a new junior class for 7 to 10 year olds starting on Monday 10th September. The class will run from 6.30 to 7.15pm. Teenager and adults are welcome to join our main class which also runs on Monday evenings from 7.15 to 8.30pm. World Championships- Argentina 2018

We are now all back from the ITF World Championships in Argentina, and what an experience it was.Daniel O Sullivan successfully defended his Senior Middleweight title in style, demolishing all opposition. Having only started Taekwon-Do at age 27 he is now a 2 times senior world champion.

Taekwon-Do Alliance Training Day

Blackrock hosted the first Taekwon-Do Alliance training day. Over 80 students of all ages and grades, from 15+ different clubs attended. The 4 hour session covered, Patterns, sparring, breaking, Special Technique and self defence.


Paul Manning won silver in Patterns, Gold in Points sparring and Gold in Contineous sparring at the ITF Polish Cup. He was also named the "best senior male competitor". 


Congratulations to Rory McCarthy who won Gold in lightweight sparring and Daniel O Sullivan who won silver in heavyweight sparring at yesterday's Rathpeacon Open.
