Rory McCarthy - Taekwon-Do Irelands Junior Competitor of the year 2015

At the Annual Taekwon-Do Ireland dinner dance & Awards night, Blackrock's Rory McCarthy was named as Junior Competitor of the year. Rory has been one of TKDI's best Junior fighters for the past few years. He is unbeaten in Ireland in the past 12 months.In June last year he fought in his first international tournament "The Holland Cup" in the Netherlands and brought home a bronze medal. He has a very bright International future ahead of him. Some of his Irish results this season:

We have 2 new Black Belts

Congratulations to Jessica Daly and Rory McCarthy on sucessfully passing the Black Belt grading on May 16th and being promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt. Both have worked extremly hard for the past 2 years and are a great example to all of our club members. 

ITA Cork Open 2015

Two competitiors from Blackrock took part in the ITA Cork Open (Feb 14th 2015).Both won Gold in their categories.Paul Manning - 70kg Black Belt Sparring.  Rory McCarthy - 52kg Red/Blue Belt Sparring.   


Class times:  Mondays - 6pm Juniors (8 to 12) & 7pm Adults & Teens @ Blackrock Hurling Club. Fridays - 7pm (All ages and grades) @Ursuline Secondary School. Email for information

We run a very busy club with lots going on for all members. Beginners are always welcome. Classes on Mondays & Fridays 6-7pm (Juniors 7 to 12) & 7-8pm (Teens & Adults).

ITF World Championships 2014, Ostia, Rome

Congratulations to Blackrock Club Instructor, Paul Manning on winning Bronze in Sparring at the recent world championships in Rome. He has now medaled at the last 3 ITF World Championships.
